Black Flag Vigil,

The Irish Republican Socialist Party along with other republicans have organised today’s Black Flag Vigil in the Bogside in remembrance of the victims of the Thatcher regime.
The purpose of the event is to remember the victims of state violence in Ireland during the term of Thatcher’s tenure as prime minister.
We would call on all those attending to behave in a dignified manner so as not to cause any undue disruption to the people of the Bogside. Further we would call on young people not to use this event as an opportunity to launch sectarian attacks on the Fountain which are wrong and anti-republican in nature.
