Successful IRSP Stall in Belfast City Centre

Belfast Irish Republican Socialist Party had an extremely successful stall at Castle Street in the city centre today (21/07/2011) which was very much focused on the unjust imprisonment of Brendan Lillis.

Comrades collected many sheets of signatures in a petition supporting the release of desperately ill former blanket-man, Brendan Lillis. Almost every single person who passed the stall expressed their anger at the despicable treatment by the Stormont minister David Ford of Mr Lillis

Comrades also distributed hundreds of copies of the party’s news-sheet ‘Workers Republic’ and leaflets explaining the truth about the Loyal Orders’ supremacist marches in the North of Ireland. Passers-by also signed a petition condemning the current cuts in public services.

The IRSP stall has proved a major success and has effectively rubbished the previously held belief in some quarters that only the ‘non-Republican Left’ can operate stalls and distribute literature etc within Belfast city centre.
