The IRSP in North Belfast strongly condemn the vicious and disgraceful attack on a postal worker on the Whitewell Rd. in North Belfast last Friday at lunchtime.
We stand in solidarity with postal workers and the community at this time and demand that those elements responsible cease their activities with immediate effect. We also would like to remind those responsible that postal workers have already put themselves at exceptional risk throughout the COVID-19 crisis, and that you do not represent the people of North Belfast in any way shape or form.
We encourage that all postal workers are unionised and do not return to work until they feel safe to do so. Every worker has the fundamental right to work in a safe environment free from intimidation.
