Christmas Greetings from the Irish Republican Socialist Prisoners

The Irish Republican Socialist prisoners in Portlaoise and Castlerea gaols would like to wish all our friends, supporters and comrades within the Republican Socialist Movement a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We commend the Irish Republican Socialist Party on their successful achievement in building the party of Connolly and Costello nationwide and in building a true Revolutionary Socialist alternative for the working class.

We commend the Volunteers of the Irish National Liberation Army for their part in contributing to the class struggle and who have a popularly supported revolutionary mandate and after 40+ years of struggle their position as disciplined revolutionaries remains the same! We salute all past and present members of the Republican Socialist Movement for their sterling contributions and to Teach Na Failte for continuing to give IRSM prisoners and their families support throughout the year. The prisoners would also like to send our condolences to the O’Hara and McGlinchey family on the passing of Peggy and Declan this year. We also feel your loss and hope that despite this unimaginable sorrow you bear, your family circles may manage to comfort each other at this special time of the year.

We would also like to send our season greetings as Socialists and Internationalists to all political prisoners in Ireland and abroad who have lost their freedom to fight for National Liberation and Socialism. We make common cause with all those revolutionaries who oppose Imperialism here and in the developing world. As a Marxist Leninist Movement we encourage those to critique both the Corporate and Gombeen capitalist machine here using the scientific Socialism of Marx, Engels, Connolly and Lenin. We all recognise that Capitalism’s heartless pursuit of profit have deprived our class, the working class, of an equal society for their own social and economic well being.

We have seen a serious rise in the most draconian attacks on the most vulnerable strata of society this year, whether by the Free State Leinster House Gombeen scoundrels or the far right junta composed of a neo-Fianna Fail type reformist nationalist party in combine with the Fascist sectarian DUP, inflicting so-called  on the Irish Proletariat. We see no alternative but the revolutionary politics and direct action of Irish Republican Socialism advocated by Connolly and Costello in tandem with the political analysis, policies and of the IRSP. Through the mass agitation and mobilisation of the working class we can succeed in achieving theses objectives.

As the centenary of the 1916 rising approaches, it is the largest historical event of our generation. We are fully committed in contributing to the ideals and principals of the 1916 proclamation from within and without Irish gaols. We welcome all who share the same values as our leaders of 1916 to pursue their goals in achieving an equal society and help end British rule over the north east of our Ireland. We salute you all who genuinely seek a country that truly seeks to value the children of the nation equally!

Let the fight go on! Saoirse go deo!
