Since the outbreak of this devastating pandemic, our healthcare staff have been on the frontline, fighting to save lives and unfortunately suffering the mental and physical consequences of this healthcare battle.
We find it absolutely disgraceful that during these times of crisis, our healthcare staff are being forced to pay for parking, a decision that was made by Stormont MLA’s who have consistently made this crisis worse through their lack of effective decisions.
Staff members are now finishing their long shifts, and being met with parking fines on their cars of £40-£70 for overstaying their payment, usually due to having to work longer than expected hours saving our lives.
We are launching a new initiative to help those staff affected, if you follow the link, you can donate to our fundraising campaign, in which we will use to help pay for these fines for our NHS staff.
It is a disgrace and intolerable that they are asking for us to clap for our staff on a Thursday, while Stormont due to their lack of funding it clamping and fining them on the Friday.
