IRSP Welcome Recent Welcome Centre Meeting
On behalf of residents of the Lower Falls, the IRSP have welcomed the recent meeting between Sinn Féin representatives and the Housing Executive (The Welcome Centre’s primary funder).
We are on the understanding that following the recent rally by residents outside the Welcome Centre and the unilateral support shown by the wider community for residents, Sinn Féin have been forced to put these concerns across to the Housing Executive and we believe this is a milestone in the campaign to get the Welcome Centre relocated.
We would like to reiterate that we stand with residents and we will continue to fully engage, facilitate and support their campaign to relocate the Welcome Centre away from their residential area to a premises that will not bring these vital drug services into conflict with the local community.
Residents will continue to put pressure on statutory organisations and further protest action is being planned.
