The Irish Republican Socialist Party share the anger and disgust of thousands of Irish people, at the disgraceful decision of Sinn Féin leader Michelle O’Neil to attend the coronation of British head of state and commander of its armed forces Charles Windsor.

Not only is this decision a complete abandonment of basic republican principles, it is a slap in the face of all who have suffered and lost in the generations old struggle against monarchy, empire and privilege.

With this move, Sinn Féin have lost the right to call themselves a republican party and do not deserve the allegiance of the Republican working class.

The IRSP are determined to build a republican socialist alternative to Sinn Féin’s pathetic politics of appeasement and call on all who aspire to a 32 County socialist Republic to return to the principled position and join us in the process.
