The Ard Comhairle of the IRSP announces that in view of the ongoing serious threat posed by the Covid 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and pandemic, it has taken the decision to postpone this years annual Easter commemorative event in recognition of overwhelming sound medical and scientific advice.
We wish to announce further our intention to review this decision in the coming weeks, considering in a proportionate fashion the uppermost duty to protect the health and well being of the general public and our members/supporters but recognising also the deeply held emotions and beliefs of the families and comrades of our fallen Republican Socialist fallen during the patriotic commemoration period.
We would like to urge the need for maximum working class solidarity during this difficult period, encouraging all to heed to sound medical scientific advice and paying maximum tribute to the workers of the National Health Service and all public service workers at the frontline of defending our community.
