IRSP Deliver Cross Community Covid-19 Aid Throughout Belfast

Yesterday, the IRSP & RSYM in Belfast spent the day; gathering and delivering much needed food parcels and other essential supplies across the  city including the Shankill and Ardoyne ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

Led by our North Belfast Cumann, 100s of food parcels were distributed to Newington, Antrim Road, the New Lodge, Shankill , Ardoyne, Springfield road and Andersonstown.

North Belfast IRSP activists and youth worker Tarlach Mac Dhónaill said, “Self-isolation imposes financial and mental hardships. The circumstances people are in is causing great anxiety.”

“We are providing a service on behalf of the community, delivering these essential supplies and a quick social distance chat means a lot. This is not charity, this is solidarity”

Over the past 3 months, the IRSP has distributed 10,000’s of food parcels and £1000’s worth of PPE across Ireland as part of our Republican Socialist Aid initiative.

Tarlach went on to say, “The community support for this initiative has been fantastic. We continue to receive donations from within our communities and local businesses so that this much needed aid can be delivered to our most vulnerable and frontline workers”
